Terms and conditions
Last updated: 7th July 2025
At Space Between Us Ltd, we’re committed to providing a safe, respectful, and transparent experience for everyone who works with us. These terms and conditions outline what you can expect when working with us, including how we handle bookings, payments, cancellations, and confidentiality.
By booking or attending a session with us, you agree to the terms set out below.
1. Booking and payments
Online sessions
-
All online sessions must be paid in full at the time of booking through our secure booking system.
-
We do not offer cash or on-the-day payments for online sessions.
-
If a session is cancelled with more than 48 hours’ notice, the fee can be refunded in full or carried over to a future appointment.
In-person sessions
-
In-person sessions can be paid for in advance online or by cash on the day of your appointment.
-
If you choose to pay in cash, please bring the correct amount, as therapists may not carry change.
-
Online advance payments for in-person sessions follow the same cancellation and refund terms as above.
2. Cancellation policy
We understand that life happens, and plans change. To protect our therapists’ time and ensure fair access to appointments:
-
We require at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
-
Sessions cancelled within 48 hours of the appointment time will be charged in full.
-
If you cancel with more than 48 hours’ notice, your payment can be refunded or transferred to another date.
3. Confidentiality
We take confidentiality seriously. What you share in therapy stays between you and your therapist. It’s a key part of building a safe, trusting space to work through what matters to you.
When confidentiality might be broken
There are a few rare situations where your therapist may have a legal or ethical duty to share information. These include:
-
If there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else
-
If there are safeguarding concerns involving children or vulnerable adults
-
If you disclose involvement in or knowledge of an act of terrorism
-
If required to do so by law (e.g. through a court order)
Wherever possible, your therapist will discuss their concerns with you first and work through the next steps together. We believe in openness and collaboration, and will only break confidentiality without your knowledge if there’s an immediate or serious risk.
Supervision
All therapists at Space Between Us Ltd take part in regular clinical supervision. This is a standard part of ethical practice and helps ensure you receive the best possible support.
At times, your therapist may take elements of your work to supervision, but always in a way that protects your identity and confidentiality.
4. Professional standards
All of our therapists are registered or accredited with recognised UK professional bodies, such as:
-
The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
-
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)
If you would like to see proof of registration or accreditation, just let us know - we’re happy to provide this.
5. Between sessions
Our therapists are not available outside of scheduled appointments. If you need immediate support or are in crisis, please visit our Need Urgent Help page for information on how to access emergency or crisis services.
6. Updates to these terms
We may update these terms and conditions occasionally to reflect changes in our service or in relevant legislation. The latest version will always be published on our website.
